This week, baby Roxie Mae did not disappoint. In fact, she was a champion sleeper, and allowed me to move her in a dozen directions, or more, without a whimper! As a photographer, this is a dream baby!
Roxie’s adorable mom dresses her in the cutest clothes (mama has a boy already, so she has been looking forward to dressing this little girl!) As a result, even though she is only eight days old, Roxie was already used to being put in tutu’s, hats, headbands, etc. I literally could have gone on photographing this young lady for hours, but it was time for mom to go home to her family, so I reluctantly let her go.

In addition to cold fingers and (understandably) cranky kids, we also had challenges of the soft ground wanting to tip over my lights, and causing chairs to sink into the ground, as the temperature came up above freezing and all the ice on the ground melted. Luckily, the Martinez family all have a great sense of humor, and it kept us all laughing (and occasionally leaping when a light began to fall, or a chair began to sink) throughout the morning.
After finishing with the family groupings, I was able to take Ivan and Danielle off to do their Engagement photos. Danielle is knee-deep in wedding plans, and looking to send out her save-the-date notices. The three of us went off in search of cool backgrounds, and took photos all over the downtown area, and then onto an old bridge that is now on private property. (Don’t worry! I had permission!)
I really enjoyed my time with this family. Between the teasing between the siblings, and the general chaos that ensues when you get a big group together, I felt right at home. Only, the Martinez family may be a bit saner than my own!
