1998 – Present                                                                             Freelance Business Consultant

Management and marketing support services from business inception to growth evaluation for established businesses.  Services include creation / review of business plans, organization of office structure and task efficiency including procedure files for common business tasks, and overlap of employee resources for maximum coverage.  Marketing overview includes brand packaging, intellectual property review and protection, creation and update of marketing packages for consistency and effectiveness.  Business projects have included:

• Home Shopping Network & America’s Store, DIY Network: Creation and presentation of live TV presentations on behalf of manufacturers and publisher to introduce their products to HSN audience.  Creation of three segments per year to promote and introduce products to consumers on behalf of multiple manufacturers on DIY Network shows.
• Delta Technical Coatings, Inc.: Worked with in-house marketing department to develop marketing materials and advertisements, and placed projects in major magazines in support of product line launch.
• Plaid Enterprises, Inc., DecoArt, Inc., North Light Books, Inc., Daler-Rowney, Inc.: consultant to marketing departments to assist their marketing department direct new campaigns to younger female markets, internet marketing, and development publishing projects and programs to promote products through publication.  Researched and advised brand managers on financial feasibility of new business and product propositions.
• Society of Creative Designers: (Trade Organization) Authored new marketing materials to address two distinct markets.  Supervised graphic artist agency for creation of collateral materials for marketing campaigns.

Marketing Consultation Projects

• Instructor (1998-1999), UCLA Extension New Media Division and California State Long Beach Extension New Media
• Trade show presentations on marketing with over 150 business attendees on behalf of product manufacturers and book publisher. 
• Trade show roundtable host on the topic of intellectual property law with one-on-one business consultations for business owners, and introduced creativity based business goal setting seminar to 100 participants.
• Created seminars for civic organizations, private groups on cruise ships, and individual businesses on topics ranging from marketing to intellectual property review and protection.

• Negotiated and prepared contracts for auction sales (artwork and musical instruments) with major international auction houses including Christies and Guernseys, including contract for highly publicized sale of Fender Stratocaster prototype; attended NYC auction as seller’s representative.
• 1988 – 1993 worked as investigator / law clerk at same firm, performed trial research and support services for four personal injury attorneys.
