WRIGHTWOOD COMPANY HONORED FOR OUTSTANDING BOOK

Complete Book of Decorative Painting was one of 23 winners in the 11th Annual Awards of Excellence sponsored by Crafts Magazine (published since 1978) and Craftrends (a magazine for the craft trade). Published by Wrightwood-based Tera Leigh Designs won in the Painting Books Category with their book entitled Complete Book of Decorative Painting.

The Awards of Excellence recognize companies for outstanding products and books introduced in the creative marketplace. The winners were chosen from among 200 finalists in 23 categories - covering a wide range of crafting areas, from needlecrafts and scrapbooking to holiday crafts and crafts for kids. Winners will be announced in the June/July '03 issue of Crafts Magazine, on sale May 20, 2003 and the April '03 issue of Craftrends Magazine.

The expert editorial staff of Crafts Magazine, whose members have nearly 100 years of crafting experience, judged the entries. Every entry was evaluated based on the following criteria:

Attractiveness & Consumer Appeal
Originality/Innovation
Usefulness to Marketplace
Clarity of Instructions
Advertising & Marketing Support

Awards were presented during a gala reception at the annual Hobby Industry Association (HIA) Show in Anaheim, CA, on January 26, 2003. The Awards of Excellence program is the only competition of its kind exclusively for the creative industry. More than 200 products competed for the prestigious Awards of Excellence.
