Frequently Asked Questions

April 2008The following list of questions and answers is based upon common questions sent to Tera via her web sites

Q: How can I buy your books and other products?

A. Visit the Products page of my web site by clicking this link. What you will find there will vary from time to time. I do not currently sell my books directly. My publisher has made some changes and my books are currently (and hopefully temporarily) out of print. Luckily, you can still purchase them through online bookstores such as Amazon.com who can link you to  online sellers that have it in stock. Here is a direct link to Tera's books on Amazon.com

Q. How can we book you to speak at our event, or appear on our radio show or TV show?

Visit the contact page for information on how to contact me.

Q. I have read that you were the founder of ToleNet. What is ToleNet?

A: ToleNet was the first online community for decorative artists. Founded in May of 1995, the group had a paid membership of over 2000 paid subscribers in over 20 countries. The web site and online group was purchased by CraftClick, Inc. in 2000. Unfortunately, CraftClick was a casualty of the crash in Internet stocks that year and the site was closed.

Q. What is the Memory Box Program? How can I participate?

A. The Memory Box Artist program was founded in 1998 when I was still working with ToleNet. Today the program stands alone and is bigger than ever. I am President of the non-profit and work to continue it's growth. We provided painted or decorated paper mache boxes to hospitals, free of charge, for use by infant bereavement counselors. If you would like to learn more about the program, please visit the web site at http://www.memoryboxes.org/

Q. What is your last name?

A. I know that "Tera Leigh" sounds like a stage name (or a Southern Name like Billy-Bob) but my last name is Leigh (pronounced "lee"). My middle name is Holland. For a brief time, I was known by my "married name", which became too unweildy for work. That was "Gemmil-Mugrage".

Q. Are you married? Do you have children?

A. No, and no.

Q. Are you really an attorney?

A. Yes! I am proudly licensed to practice law in California, where I passed the bar the first time I took it. (I'm sorry, that isn't bragging, I just get asked that a lot.) My first love is contract law, and now I work with intellectual property issues due to my own work as an artist and author. Because I work as a consultant and am not currently living in California full-time, I have put my license on inactive status. My father, who recently passed away, was a prominent Personal Injury attorney for over 35 years, and my brother practices law in California as well. (If you need a great Worker's Compensation attorney, look for Curtis L. Gemmil II; high praise from a little sister!) I love the law, and I love language. I know there is a lot of negativity about attorneys - but lawyers do a lot of good in this world, and I try to be that kind of attorney.
