FOR THE SECOND YEAR, BOOK BY TERA LEIGH NAMED TO
AMERICAN LIBRARY ASSOCIATIONS "TOP TEN CRAFT & HOBBY BOOKS" LIST

Wrightwood, California: The December 15th edition of The American Library Association's Booklist will name How to be Creative if You Never Thought You Could by local Author and Artist Tera Leigh as one of the "Top 10 Craft & Hobby Books" of 2003. This follows Tera's honor in 2002 when Booklist named her book The Complete Book of Decorative Painting as one of the "Top 10 Craft & Hobby Books" of 2002.

Ms. Leigh has been an aggressive promoter of the craft industry outside traditional craft resources. "I wrote this book with two audiences in mind," explains Leigh. "One, the person who does not feel creative, but has always had the desire to break through. Two, the struggling creative who has discovered their own creativity but find themselves blocked in moving forward to their best creative work." In 2003, Leigh promoted the book in a seven-city book tour in stores and through interviews on Network TV affiliates.

For more than 90 years, Booklist has been librarian and booksellers leading choice for reviews of the latest books. Every year the publication reviews nearly 4,000 books for adults, more than 2,500 titles for children, more than 500 reference books and electronic reference tools, and 1,000 other audiovisual materials.

Tera Leigh is an artist and author living in California. She discovered decorative painting while waiting for her state bar results in 1993. In 1995, she created the ToleNet mailing list, and by 1998 was writing her first magazine column for a craft publication. In 2000 she gave up law practice to become a full-time artist.

She has published two books with North Light Books, and her third publication will debut in 2004. Tera has written columns for Country Marketplace, Craft & Needlework Age, Paintworks, Quick & Easy Painting, Decorative Artist's Workbook, Artist's Sketchbook, and Tole World magazines, and has had her original designs published in over a dozen painting and home décor magazines.

Ms. Leigh was also honored by Harlequin Enterprises, Ltd. in 2003, and was presented with the 2003 HIA Special Recognition award for her philanthropic work in the craft industry with the Memory Box Artist Program, Inc.
